Saving Projects

ScreenSage Pro saves recordings, edit data, and timeline settings as .screensage projects. Keep active projects in a stable folder until you are sure the edit is finished.

Save a Project

After recording or importing media, save the project like a normal macOS document. A manual Save As starts in Documents; automatically saved recording projects use the ScreenSage Projects folder in your home folder.

Recorded screen, camera, and microphone media are stored in the project package. Music imported from another location remains linked to its original file, so keep that file available when moving or archiving the project.

Recent Projects

The launch screen lists recent projects so you can reopen work quickly. If a file has been moved or deleted, remove the missing entry from the list.

Backup Advice

For important projects, keep the .screensage file, exports, and delivery assets in the same folder. Exported videos are deliverables, not editable project backups.

Multi-sequence Projects

Open the sequence navigator to create New Sequence…, then use Rename, Duplicate, or Delete on the selected sequence. Switching sequences changes the active timeline without creating a separate project file.

Use sequences to separate versions such as landscape vs portrait, long vs short, or delivery vs draft edits. Confirm the active sequence before making timeline changes; sequence deletion can be undone.
