Dynamic Layouts & Switching

ScreenSage Pro's magic lies in post-production flexibility. Insert "layout keyframes" anywhere on the timeline — the software automatically generates smooth transitions between layouts. Find layout switching controls in the properties panel or timeline toolbar.

1. Four Core Layouts

ScreenSage Pro provides four essential Vlog layout modes for different storytelling needs:

1. Picture-in-Picture (PiP)

Preview

Scenario: Standard software demos.

Screen takes center stage; your face floats on top (default: bottom-right), keeping key content visible.

2. Split Screen

Preview

Scenario: Conversations, interviews, or interactive emphasis.

Face and screen share equal halves — balanced presence.

3. Full Camera

Preview

Scenario: Openings, conclusions, or strong opinions.

Screen hidden — viewers focus entirely on you.

4. Full Screen

Preview

Scenario: Immersive detail showcase.

Camera hidden — screen occupies all pixels.

2. Changing Global Layout

After recording, the default global layout is picture-in-picture. You can change this to apply a different layout throughout the entire video.

Open from the camera button in the top toolbar — this modifies the global default.

3. Adding Range Layouts

Changing layouts is simple — just click on the timeline:

Enable the camera track (auto-enabled if you recorded a webcam). Look for this track icon:

Add a Layout Block

Click any empty area on the camera track to add a layout block.

Open Properties Panel

Click the layout block to open its properties.

Switch Layout

Click Layout Type in the properties panel, then select your desired layout icon (e.g., switch from "Full Camera" to "PiP").

4. Automatic Transitions

When you add layout switches, ScreenSage Pro handles transitions automatically:

  • Camera smoothly scales, shrinks, or repositions
  • Screen smoothly adjusts size and position

No manual keyframe animation needed — everything is automated for fluid, professional results.
