ScreenSage ProExport Transparent Video
Transparent video is intended for compositing ScreenSage Pro output in an editor that supports alpha channels and the selected codec.
Select Transparent Video
Open the Export window and choose Transparent. Transparent export uses MOV and preserves the alpha channel in the canvas.
If the current background still fills the canvas, the Export window warns that no transparency will be visible. Click Set Transparent, or select no background in the Background settings before checking the transparent regions in the preview.
Choose an Alpha Codec
- HEVC with Alpha is the recommended option when you want a smaller file.
- ProRes 4444 creates a much larger file and is the compatibility-first option.
Transparent export selects MOV automatically and keeps the frame rate at 24 fps or higher. Choose the resolution for the destination composition.
Verify the Export
Import the MOV into the destination editor and place it above a colored background. Check transparent edges, shadows, and corner treatment. Some standalone players display transparent areas as black, which does not necessarily mean the alpha channel is missing.
Publishing platforms, browsers, and messaging apps may not preserve alpha channels. Export a separate MP4 with a normal background when you need a directly viewable version.
