Trimming & Splitting
ScreenSage Pro offers two core editing modes: precision cuts at the playhead position, and rapid slicing with mouse clicks.
Playhead-Based Editing (Quick Trim)
The most common editing method — actions apply at the current playhead (red line) position. Use toolbar icons or faster number key shortcuts.
Shortcut: 1
Cuts and auto-deletes everything before the playhead. Perfect for setting your clip's in-point.
Shortcut: 2
Splits the video at the current position, keeping both segments. Ideal for inserting content or adjusting sections independently.
Shortcut: 3
Cuts and auto-deletes everything after the playhead. Perfect for setting your clip's out-point.
Mouse-Based Cutting (Blade Mode)
When you want to slice by feel without relying on the playhead, use Blade Mode.
Press X on your keyboard — your cursor becomes a scissors icon.
Click anywhere on the timeline track to instantly split at that point. Keep cutting at different positions while the mode is active.
Press X again (or V) to return to normal selection mode.
When to Use What
- Precision editing: Use 1 / 2 / 3 keys with the audio waveform for beat-matching.
- Rough breakdown: Use X key to quickly segment long videos into chunks.
