Getting Started

Interface Overview

ScreenSage Pro changes its visible controls with the current task. You begin on the launch screen or recording panel, manage an active take from the recording controls, and edit the result with the preview, timeline, and Inspector.

Launch and Record

  • Launch screen: start a new recording, open a .screensage project, import an existing video, or reopen a recent project.
  • Recording panel: choose a display, region, window, or mobile device, then configure microphone, system audio, camera, interaction recording, and preparation tools.
  • Recording controls: review elapsed time and audio waveforms, pause or resume, finish the take, restart, or discard it.

See Launch Screen, New Recording, and Managing Recording for each stage.

Edit the Project

  • Preview canvas: review the current frame and directly adjust composition for supported tools.
  • Timeline: arrange video clips and time-based zoom, caption, camera, mask, 3D, keystroke, and music ranges.
  • Inspector: edit the settings for the selected clip or range, such as scale, layout, style, timing, or volume.
  • Templates and assets: preview compatible editing templates, background music, and imported resource packs before applying them to the project.

The timeline uses dedicated tracks rather than generic numbered video and audio layers. Select a timeline item first when you need its corresponding Inspector controls.

Export and Settings

  • Export window: choose video, GIF, or transparent-video output where supported, review output settings, and monitor queued or completed exports.
  • Settings: manage app behavior, recording shortcuts, and licensing.
