Record Your First Video
The recording panel combines capture area, audio, camera, interaction data, and preparation tools. Configure only the sources required by the video you are making.
Prepare the Recording
Complete System Permissions before the first take. Then prepare the environment:
- Use Demo Mode when the desktop, wallpaper, menu bar, or Dock may appear.
- Use the Teleprompter when you need a script while presenting.
- Enable Interaction Recording when the edit will use cursor paths, automatic zooms, text-cursor following, or keystroke display.
Choose What to Capture
Open New Recording, then choose one capture source:
- Entire Display for a complete desktop workflow.
- Region Recording for a fixed part of the screen.
- Single Window Recording to create a fixed capture region from a selected window. Keep the window in place and unobstructed during recording.
- iPhone or iPad Recording for a connected mobile device.
Add the microphone, system audio, and camera sources needed by the final video. Check device selection and audio levels before starting.
Record and Finish the Take
Confirm the countdown, frame rate, recording mode, and source state in the recording panel. During the countdown, press Esc to cancel before capture starts.
While recording, use the floating controls to review elapsed time and audio waveforms, pause or resume capture, finish the take, restart, or discard it. If ScreenSage Pro reports disk, device, or performance risk, follow Recording Troubleshooting before continuing a long take.
